Privacy Policy

Effective date: To be confirmed before launchLast updated: 3 July 2026

RewardsMate is operated by the RewardsMate operating entity (legal entity details to be confirmed), trading as RewardsMate and forming part of the Shopper's Mate product ecosystem. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store and protect personal information when you use our website, register for early access, suggest a store or use RewardsMate services.

1. Information we may collect

Depending on how you interact with RewardsMate, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address, phone number and suburb or city
  • Stores or business categories you suggest
  • Early-access preferences and marketing-consent choices
  • Account and membership identifiers
  • Participating retailer balances, rewards and redemption activity
  • Eligible purchase and digital receipt information
  • Device, browser, IP address and website usage information
  • Support enquiries, feedback and communications
  • Records of consent, policy acknowledgement and unsubscribe requests

2. How we collect information

We may collect information directly from you, through the RewardsMate website or app, from participating retailers when you identify your membership during an eligible transaction, and from service providers that help us operate the platform.

3. Why we use information

We may use personal information to:

  • Process early-access registrations
  • Record and respond to store suggestions
  • Operate RewardsMate accounts, points, rewards and receipts
  • Connect eligible activity to the correct participating retailer
  • Display retailer-specific balances and reward eligibility
  • Provide customer support
  • Improve product usability and reliability
  • Prevent fraud, misuse and unauthorised access
  • Meet legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations
  • Send product or pilot updates where marketing consent has been provided

4. Participating retailers

When you scan or identify your RewardsMate membership at a participating retailer, information required to record the transaction, calculate points, apply rewards and provide a receipt may be shared between RewardsMate and that retailer.

A participating retailer should only receive the information reasonably required to operate its loyalty relationship with you. A retailer does not automatically receive your complete activity from unrelated retailers.

5. Service providers and disclosures

We may disclose information to hosting, database, analytics, communications, support, security and professional-service providers that help us operate RewardsMate.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to investigate suspected misuse, to protect legal rights, or as part of a genuine business restructuring or acquisition subject to appropriate safeguards.

RewardsMate does not position the sale of identifiable customer purchase data as part of its business model.

6. Marketing communications

We only send optional early-access and promotional updates where you have provided the relevant consent or where otherwise permitted by law.

Marketing messages will identify the sender and provide an unsubscribe method. You can withdraw marketing consent without closing your RewardsMate account or losing access to essential service communications.

7. Cookies and analytics

The website may use essential technologies required for security, form submission and basic functionality. Where optional analytics technologies are used, they help us understand website performance and improve the customer experience.

The specific analytics products in use will be described here before this policy is published. We will not claim that no cookies are used if analytics, embedded content or form providers set cookies.

8. Storage and security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.

No online platform can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their login credentials and contact us promptly if they believe their account has been compromised.

9. Overseas processing

Some technology providers may process or store information outside Australia. The actual providers, processing locations and safeguards used will be identified here before this policy is published.

10. Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected, to operate the service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and meet legal or accounting obligations.

11. Access and correction

You may request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.

12. Deletion and account closure

You may request account closure or deletion of eligible personal information. Some records may need to be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, transaction integrity or legal obligations.

13. Complaints

To raise a privacy concern, contact us using the privacy contact details below. We will review the concern and respond within a reasonable period.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as RewardsMate develops. Material changes will be communicated through the website, app or account contact details where appropriate.
